Seeking solace in food

One of my main interest is eating,I never care how far the distance, how expensive it costs,I will make a trip to taste it if its worth the money and trip.
Few months back when I was running my own entertainment business, eating supper was the main topic every night. From the famous porridge at Oasis, beside Indoor Stadium(but had closed down),mostly were taken in Geylang areas.

Dim Sum:2 nightspots that serves great dimsum.Wen Tao Shi opposite Geylang Lor 17.And Swee Choon at Jalan Besar, near Dunlop Street.

Chicken Rice:Used to love having it at Boon Tong Kee,but then their prices go up and down,I can eat with 4 pax and spend $80 and tomoro with 8 pax about $100plus,its a bit of dishonesty in the pricing.Chatterbox @ Mandrian Hotel is my fav hideout, place serves good food,my fav Earl Gray tea and its not very packed.Plus point:I can get a 20% discount..hahaha

Roti Prata:Many were go to Jalan Kayu, but as its quite far from my pub,so having it at the one along Macpherson Road is also great, wonderful prata and "tem peks",service fast and friendly.

Noodles:My friend opened a new stall along River Valley Road dealing with China speciality dishes, like mixed sauce noodles and "guo tie"..As all the noodles are handmade, the food is good. But be forewarned, its quite expensive and parking spaces almost zero..How do I get to park?Simple:park your car, switch on your hazard lights and open up your car bonnet, then people will think your car is spoilt and leave you alone. But dun do it with more than one car,cos plan will backfire..

Nasi Padang:Along Geylang main road, near Lorong 14,packed little indian muslim eating house, but food is good,in large servings and its cheap,a $5 packet of rice can let you feel you're eating your last meal,Shah Alam @ Boat quay, their nasi goreng ikan bilis also very nice..

Nasi Lemak:Punggol or Chong pang Nasi lemak, try the one at Adam Road hawker centre or the one at Jurong hawker centre, the ones at Changi End,standard abit drop..so seldom go there.

Curry Rice:Best ones are only found opposite Punggol Nasi Lemak,Midnight curry, but if you go to the one beside Chong Pang Nasi Lemak in Punggol, they serve "replica" dishes similar to midnight curry, but cheaper and taste almost the same.

Cosy Bay:The cod fish fillet is wonderful, eat it.And moving along East Coast road, you can find a store opposite Caltex, selling Hong Kong street delights, like pomelo tea, toast with butter, pineapple buns, egg noddles(like instand noodles).Unqiue.

Intensive dining:Below are my favourites:Mezzanine @ Hyatt,RoyaL China @ Raffles,Shangri-La's The Line Buffet,Lao Beijing(Plaza Singapura),Charming Gardens(Copthrone Orchid),Lei Garden(Chjimes),Nobel House(UIC Building),Tung Lok Seafood Gallery(East Coast),Fish & Co..But frequency in going very low..

EXTREME Gourmet: Geylang, back alley of Lorong 20,serves authentic dogs meat, flying fox claypot, iguana thign, bats meat, alligator meat, and seasonal meats, and their catch of the week.Kinda hard if you do not know the people there as these are illegal in Singapore, but worth a try if you like a "taste" of wildlife. Its really heaty,I remembered having a nose bleed after eating some of the dishes..
Good food supposed to be shared and recommended..please update me for the lastest tummy-rubbing,lip-smacking movements...
