Bloggin Marathon Stage 2..

Comprehensive guide to party everyday, now you can forget about getting your beauty sleep !!

MONDAY Its the start of the week and in most cities Mondays would be a quiet. In Singapore its just the start of a non stop week of partying. Most places are rather quiet, but you can always find plenty of people at Madam Wongs. Be prepared as the crowd is decidedly younger and very local i.e. very Ah Beng and Ah Lian type. But the people are friendly enough and lots of party people on the dance floor for a Monday.Fights often break out so watch yourself.Unless you go with me,I'm rated a very safe and fearful companion... TUESDAY On Tuesdays, go after 11PM and there is only one place to go and its Crew Night at Velvet Underground. The place rocks with a mixed crowd of expats, local models, and airline crew who party until 3AM on a

Tuesday!! The two main draws on Crew Night at Velvet are 1) If you are airline crew or you are with someone with an airline crew pass you get drinks at 40% off which means $6 house pours and very inexpensive jugs and 2) there are plenty air hostess, airline crew, and stewardess whatever is the politically correct definition nowadays.

WEDNESDAY The biggest party night in Singapore. Everyone seems to go out on Wednesday. Perhaps its that there are tons of free drinks on Wednesday or perhaps it’s the middle of the week and people need to party! The university students and the younger crowd are seen at Zouk club for Mambo Jambo Night or ‘Mambo’ for short for retro music. China Jump has its Babe Central which has been one of the hottest places to go for years. China Jump was a pioneer in Singapore with its free flow for ladies on Wednesdays the line waiting outside used to snake all the way down the hall. But even now the place is great to party with young professional women, students and tourists. Everyone fits in at the Jump as the place attracts a fun loving crowd - some say it attracts a fair share of lesbians. Playing a good mix of retro and todays top40, the locals and tourists love the "american music" and get down on the dance floor.

THURSDAY Head on down to Siam Supper Club where its ladies night. Lots of local girls and lots of expat guys. Siam Supper is not known for being an Ang Moh (expat) hangout but on Thursdays it apparently attracts a more diverse crowd than usual. Ladies drink for free again!! The dress and crowd is casual but nice. Velvet Underground rocks again with its Crew Night on Thursdays. Their Thursday nights is one of their best nights, you’ll find about double the crowd on a Thursday as compared to Tuesday. Because its crew night and because of the 40% it really does make sense to make sure you become good friends with a guy or girl who is airline crew.

FRIDAY The best Happy Hour deals are at either at Bar Savanh on Club Street and Bar Opium at Empress place (across the river from Boat Quay) make sure you catch their happy hours because thats where the after work crowd will be before 8.30pm. You'll get a good mix of upscale professionals. If you like the expat banker and money broker crowd check out the crazy happy hours at Harry's Bar and The Penney Black, two different establishments side by side at the beginning of Boat Quay.
The Alley Bar is a tastefully decorated and they manage to make a lot with a small space. A good crowd of bankers, entrepreeurs, and advertising folk at the Alley Bar. Another option from is head on down to the Zouk Wine Bar for their Law and Media night and just show you business card and get 50% off drinks all night. Chill out either outside or inside and check out the crowd. Partygoers may go into either Velvet Undergound or Zouk later on in the night.

SATURDAY Saturday is get some friends. Saturdays in Singapore seems to be the domain of the house party. There is always some house party, pool party or foam party on Saturdays, you just have to know where they are. As for clubs, you should go to China Jump ,the crowd there is great mix of locals, tourists and expats. The music is great and the layout makes it really easy to spot and meet new people. Velvet has crew night and the crowd is good.

SUNDAY Its a day of rest is it? Well not much happening on Sunday nights, sorry.Chill out at Bar Opium with a few friends. If you are into the ‘alternative’ lifestyle or crowd then head down to China Black for a similar alternative evening. Not many females around and some of the girls are not girls if you know what I mean.

ANYTIME FUN Check out the outdoor food stalls at Lau Pau Sat or Newton Circus. Visit Mount Faber and have drinks overlooking the city. Chillout at One Fullerton at Gloria Jeans Coffee. Hangout at Holland Village, East Coast or Chijmes. Dance and listen to good rock music at Bar None, pretty much every night of the week is decent at Bar None after 11pm. Most guys are dressed in blue shirts and khakis and ladies in evening wear. Popular among Thai, China, Malay girls and expat guys is Brix at the Grand Hyatt. Brix is pretty upscale an older men crowd.
